Dew To You

I will be like the dew to Israel...

The dew is a source of freshness. It is nature's provision for renewing the face of the earth. It falls at night, to renew and rejuvenate vegetation. It is this great renewal value of the dew that is often used in scripture as a symbol of spiritual refreshment. Just as nature is bathed in dew, the Lord renews His people.

Heavenly dew is important in the life of a Christian. Without it, we may lack zeal, freshness and energy. Our spirits will be withered and hungry for lack of dew. Every day we must receive the “renewal by the Holy Spirit” that fills us with the energy and freshness of God's divine life. Quietness and stillness bring the dew. At night when the leaves and grass are still, the plants’ pores are open to receive the refreshing and invigorating bath. Spiritual dew comes from quietly lingering in the God's presence. Get still before Him. Wait before God in prayer, worship, praise and meditation until you feel saturated with His presence. This will give you fuel to move on to your duty with the awareness of the freshness and energy of Christ.

The grace of God brings rest and renewal to our soul when we completely reach the point of stillness before Him. Let us get still before the Lord today and always.

Prayer: My Loving Father, thank You for Your promise of being like Dew to me. Father, only in Your presence can I get a complete refreshing, renewal and rejuvenation of my spirit, soul and body. Father Lord, may I continually desire Your presence. May I continually make out time to be still before You, to get complete rest in You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Praying With Purpose

One day...Jesus went up on a mountain to pray, and He prayed to God all night. At daybreak He called together all of His disciples and chose twelve of them to be apostles...

The Bible gives account of times when Jesus rose early to pray. It was mostly to prepare for His daily mission. In the scripture for today, we learn that prior to making the huge decision on who will be His apostles, out of the many disciples that followed Him, He prayed all through the night. This was a time spent in discussion with His father, and He did not leave until He heard from His Father.

Let us take our prayers to another level. Let us purpose that for every decision we make, we not only think it through but run it through our loving, heavenly Father. Let us move past dropping requests for God, but enter into discussion with Him. As you pray, consider these: What is He saying about your request? What answers are you getting? What word is He placing in your heart? What move is He telling you to make?

Prayer is communication with God. It should not be one-sided. As you pray, make out time to get an answer from God. Ask the Holy Spirit to make you more attuned to the voice of your Father. Purpose not to leave His presence until you hear a word from Him.

Prayer: My Loving Father, I thank You that I have direct access to You because of Jesus. I can come boldy into Your presence to commune with You. I pray that my relationship with You will continually grow. I pray for the ability to hear Your voice clearly. Each time I pray, may I receive from You instruction, direction or an answer of peace. In Jesus Name, Amen.

The Sure Way To Long Life And Prosperity

My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you prosperity.

The verse of scripture for today is not only a promise, but a principle of life. God, who formed the Heavens and Earth, who knows all things, gave us His word to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. His word corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. His laws and commandments help us to have direction for obedience and develop good character. Living a life of communion with God gives us direction, revelation, and even protection.

May God's word, His commandments and His instructions have effect in our lives. We need to acquaint ourselves with them and remember them so that they may be ready to us whenever we have need to use them. Our wills and affections must be subject to them and should conform to them. This we cannot do by ourselves, but with the help of the Holy Spirit. We are assured that if we keep His commandments in our heart, if we consider His word, that it is the certain way to long life and prosperity. God's word is available to give us a good useful life on earth, give us an eternal life in heaven, and give us a life of peace and prosperity.

Prayer: My Loving Father, thank You for Your Word that has the power to add length of days to my years. May I not take for granted Your teachings and may I treasure and hide Your word in my heart. May I continue to look to You and Your word for direction, instruction, correction and how to live. I pray that Your Spirit will teach me how to be subject to Your word and how I may live conforming to Your Word. As I live a life of communion with You, may I receive the promise of long life and prosperity. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Understanding God and His Word

For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.
These words were spoken by angel Gabriel to Mary when he was sent by God to inform her that she would be the mother of the Messiah. These words, many believe it. They know there is nothing impossible with God, probably because they have seen God at work in the lives of those around them. Yet they find it difficult to accept these words when it comes to their situation. One of the keys to receiving is to believe for one's self.

This verse of scripture teaches us 3 things:-
1. That nothing is impossible with God. What may seem dead or hopeless to human beings can be turned around by God. Nothing is too difficult for God to handle [Genesis 18:14]. He who created the heavens and the earth, and who raised Jesus Christ from the dead, can bring life to any situation.
2. No word from God shall be without power. This includes His spoken word and the words He inspired, which are documented in the bible for you. That is why you can stand on His word and run with His word, and you will not be disappointed nor put to shame. The word of God is powerful [Hebrews 4:12] and is backed up by His power.
3. No word of God is impossible of fulfilment. Nothing can make His word not to be fulfilled. God Himself declared, "So will my word be which goes out of my mouth: it will not come back to me with nothing done, but it will give effect to my purpose, and do that for which I have sent it" [Isaiah 55:11; Bible in Basic English].

With God nothing is ever impossible and no word of His shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. Believe and receive this promise for yourself. Act on His word and see it bring results in your life.
Prayer: My Loving Father, thank You for Your Word that is alive and powerful. Thank You Father, that with You, nothing is impossible. I believe Your word. It is settled forever in Heaven. Knowing the power that is inherent in Your word, I confess and declare Your word over my life today and always. May I continue to find rest, encouragement and enlightenment from Your word. In Jesus Name, Amen.
