But I will honor those who honor me...
Your Loving Father has promised, "those who honor Me I will honor them." To honor means to hold in respect or esteem, to worship or to fulfill an agreement. Honoring God is a key for receiving blessings from Him.
As you deal with your Loving Father, expect to be dealt with by Him, and yet more favourably than you deserve. If you humble and deny yourself in any thing to honor God, you can depend upon this promise, He will put the best honour upon you. Some ways in which you can honor God include 1) Love the ones God loves, 2) Spend time with God today, 3) Model Jesus in your words and actions, 4) Tell someone about what God has done for you and 5) Read the Bible to know how to honor God.
If you honor God, God will honor you. He will raise you to a higher position for which you might never have imagined or thought of. He is able. Joseph who was a slave boy in Egypt, because he honored God and walked in His ways, because he walked in holiness, God raised him to the position of second in command to the king. He became Governor of Egypt, a foreign land. What ways can you honor your Loving Father today?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we live in an age similar to Daniel’s where people mock and ridicule the one and only true God of the universe. So many worship music gods, technology gods, beauty gods, media gods, body building gods, intellectual gods and countless others. They render You powerless, but we who have exchanged a life enslaved to sin for a life that is forgiven and wholly saved know that they have not had a personal encounter with a holy God. Only You can turn beauty into ashes, our weapons into plowshares, our selfishness into selflessness. Only You can take a meaningless life and establish purpose in our hearts. Only You can replace the fear in our hearts with an eternal hope. Because of Your infinite love and care for us I want to honor You in all that I do, for I love You with all my heart. Amen.
