What You Can Depend On

Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches.
But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone:
That they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord
Who demonstrates unfailing love
And who brings justice and righteousness to the earth,
And that I delight in these things.
I, the Lord, have spoken!

In these words, God speaks about what you may not depend on. Not your wisdom, as it is not sufficient to outwit the enemy. Not your strength, for the battle is not always for the strong.  Not your riches, for money does not solve every problem.

But there are things you can depend on if you face an unfavourable situation. You can depend on your relationship with God. That you know Him and obey Him. You can rest in the understanding that He demonstrates unfailing love. This will help to conquer any fears and keep you praising and glorifying Him.

You can boast of the truth that God delights to show kindness and to execute judgment Himself. You can depend on the truth that because He loves you and delights in showing you kindness, He will always come through for you. If you wish to boast, boast in this alone.

Prayer: Thank you Heavenly Father that I can depend on you. Thank you that though my wisdom, strength and riches may not be sufficient to overcome challenges, no situation will overwhelm me because I have You. My God, I praise and glorify You. I am cheerful because You have overcome the world. I pray that as each day unfolds, may my desire be to know you more. In Jesus Name, Amen.

I Watch Over My Word To Perform It

Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.

When God spoke these words to Jeremiah, it was because Jeremiah had been very observant of the vision before him.  Jeremiah's mind was so composed as to be able to distinguish the details of the vision. Then God made the promise, "I am alert and active, watching over my word to perform it."

Today your loving Father says to you, "I am awake, without sleeping or slumbering, to carry through, to bring to completion, and to accomplish the promise I have made."

What vision do you have for your life? What word has God spoken concerning you? Can you find a word of God to match your vision? Your loving Father is awake, paying close attention to His word, to accomplish it in your life. He will hasten to accomplish His word in your life.

Suggestions for Prayer: Thank God that He neither sleeps nor slumbers but is alert and active, watching over His word to accomplish it. If there is any specific word of God you are running with, thank Him that He will hasten to perform it. Pray for sight this year, to be able to see yourself the way God sees you. Pray for a sound and composed mind, to be able to understand the vision God has given/will give to you.

Before I Formed You, I Knew You

Before I formed you in the womb I knew and approved of you (as My chosen instrument),
and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you;

Do you some times wonder what your purpose is or why you were created? Your Loving Father wants you know that you are not here by chance but here for a purpose. God knows what use to make of everyone before He makes him/her. To know what you are created for, you need to ask God. What God has designed you for, He will call you to and equip you for that purpose.

Before you were formed, He knew you and set you apart for a specific purpose. You will need to truly yield to Him to understand and achieve fully this purpose. He also has a plan for your life to achieve this purpose.

There might be some situations you feel should not be in the plan for your life. Rest assured today that God has not forgotten you. You are unique, special and chosen for a purpose. His plan is to bring you to an expected end.

Suggestions for Prayer: Thank God that you are created on purpose for a purpose. Thank Him for the plan He has for you. Pray for the grace to yield completely to Him, and not lust after the things of the world. Pray that He opens the eyes of your understanding to know the purpose for which you were created. Pray that God brings people or resources along your journey to help you realize who you are in Christ and how you can continue to walk in the confidence of knowing your purpose.

Willing To Answer Your Prayers

Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save,
nor His ear too dull to hear.

Have you found yourself in a place where it seems your prayers are not being answered and you wonder if God has heard you? Today, be reassured that your loving Father has heard you and is not weary of hearing prayer. His arm is not too short. His power is not limited nor is it lessened. Your loving Father can reach as far as ever and with as strong a hand as ever. Not length of time or strength of enemies can make power of God less efficacious.

His ear is not heavy, that it cannot hear. Though it may seem that He has many prayers to hear and answer, He is still as ready to hear prayer as ever. Your prayers are His delight, and the promises which you plead in prayer are still yea and amen. Not only is His ear not dull, but He is quick of hearing. Even before you call, He answers, for your loving Father knows what you need.

You do not need to keep reminding Him of the requests you have made known to Him in prayer. Do not grow weary in spending time with Him as you await the answer to your prayer. Thank Him for answered prayers.

Prayer: Thank you Heavenly Father that You answer my prayers. I know that Your power is not limited, You are not tired of listening to me, and all your promises for me will come to pass at your perfect time for me. Lord, I pray, that as I await the physical manifestation of my answered prayers, give me the grace to wait on You alone. In Jesus Name, Amen.

My Word Shall Prosper In The Thing For Which I Sent It

For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

This promise from your loving Father to you today is packed full. Consider the analogy between His spoken word and rain/snow. The rain and the snow water the earth to ensure the earth's fruitfulness. The earth in turn brings forth and bud giving sustenance to the owner and his family, and also seed as provision for another year. That is how His spoken word will be to you. It will make you fruitful and equip you with what you need for the future.

His spoken word shall not return to Him void. It will be able to effect what it was sent for, and it shall accomplish that which He pleases, that is accomplish His will. All the promises He has made concerning you will be accomplished.

And it shall prosper in the thing for which He sent it. The promises of God shall all have their full accomplishment in due time, and not one of them shall fail. For all the different purposes for which they were sent, they will be successful. Whatever He has spoken to you, through His word, through prophesies or through His voice, it will be accomplished successfully.

Suggestions for Prayer: Thank God for the efficacy of His word. Thank Him for the power backing His word. Refer to any word you have been standing on or declaring year. Back up your declarations with this Scripture [Isaiah 55:10-11]. Declare that His word upon your life shall prosper in the thing for which He sent it. If you do not have any word you are standing on, you can confess this scripture over your life today.

My Ways Are Higher Than Your Ways

"My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the Lord.
"And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts..."

Just as you have your thoughts, so does God. And just as you have your ways of doing things, so does God. While you may think about things concerning you, God's thoughts are higher than that. An example of our ways being different from God's ways is in forgiveness. When we forgive we cannot forget; but, when God forgives sin, He remembers it no more.

There are some times you may have questions and wonder "why?" You wish to know the answers to why certain things have to happen. But if you look back, you will find out that there are some situations that have turned out for good for you, though when it was happening, you wondered why. God's plan is something people would have never dreamed of. His thoughts towards you are only of good.

He says to you today, "My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts and my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine."

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you that your thoughts towards me are only of good and not evil. I am awed by the truth that your thoughts and your ways are higher than mine. Help me to trust You in every situation and be reminded of the truth of your thoughts and ways. May I have a believing, obedient spirit even when I don’t fully understand Your plan. Help me to understand your ways that I may reflect the character of Jesus Christ. I pray that even when I am not sure of your ways towards me, that when I look back, I will be able to see how good your plans are for me. These I pray in Jesus Name, Amen.

Your Vindication Comes From Me

"...No weapon turned against you will succeed.
You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you.
These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord;
Their vindication will come from me.
I, the Lord, have spoken!"

When the Lord spoke these words to Jerusalem, He spoke of their future glory.  He was telling them of His plans to justify them and make them righteous. He was going to clear them from any accusation, suspicion or criticism; He was going to justify them by providing evidence.

The life of Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice for mankind, has become the evidence that you are justified. It is no longer future tense. You are now righteous because of Jesus Christ. No one has the right to accuse you or criticize you about your past or your present, as you are in Christ Jesus. Because of Jesus, you will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. In those days, there were certain punishment for sin that came through use of weapons. Same during war. Because you have been justified, no weapon (physical or spiritual) formed against you will succeed.

Today your loving Father says to you, "Your vindication comes from me". When you are accused, even if it is a voice within you, declare that you have been justified. You have liberty. Be free.

Prayer: Thank you Heavenly Father for setting me free. I have been justified and I am righteous because of Jesus Christ. I declare this day that no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper. No plans of the enemy against me shall succeed. I silence all voices that attempt to accuse, criticize or condemn me. You have set me free and I am free indeed. In Jesus Name, Amen.
