Hidden Treasures For You

He hides away sound and godly Wisdom and stores it for the righteous...

Once you have given your life to Christ, God sees you the way He sees Christ - as righteous. Because of Jesus, you can boldly declare that you are righteous and continue walking in that truth. The scripture for today is a promise for the righteous - God hides away sound and godly wisdom and stores it for them.

You do not have to fret about the success of the unrighteous or wonder about what methods they use to achieve what they have. The best has been stored for the righteous. It is wisdom that comes from God, who knows all things and sees the end from the beginning. As a child a God, you can have the best knowledge in your duties, in all that you are involved with, and have hope for success in all that you do, when you take instruction and counsel from God, your Father.

Your loving Father has hidden sound and godly wisdom specifically for you. Not only will this give you substantial knowledge that will make you stand out, but will also provide you substantial happiness and comfort as a result.

Prayer: My Loving Father, thank You for keeping a treasure of wisdom aside for me. Thank You that because of Jesus, I am righteous, and I can access this treasure You have stored for me. I come before You today, asking for sound and godly Wisdom for my affairs (You can mention any area(s) where you need wisdom). As a result, may my eyes be opened to see things, opportunities, ways and methods the way You see them. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Nothing Is New Under The Sun

History merely repeats itself. It has all happened [italized word replaced been done] before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.
[Ecclesiastes 1:9, NLT]

Have you ever had the feeling when you are passing through a situation, that you are alone in it and no one else could have had it as rough as you?

The truth is there is nothing happening now that has not happened before. The bible gives account of several challenges people have gone through, even at all levels of life. Job lost all he owned, including family, and was plagues will illness; Sarah did not bear a child of her own until old age; Naomi was a widow who lost her 2 sons, Rachel had to wait for her man for 7 years (and even compete with her sister), Joseph, son of Jacob, passed through many challenges before he eventually got to the place God had shown him when he was young. In all these we learn that God is faithful to His word, He wiped away tears, and He restored.

You might say these are bible characters, many years ago, or probably God was different then. God is never changing. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He still performs miracles today. If you care to look around you, you will see people who are hurting. You will also see those who have passed through situations and came out strong. You will find men that from poverty-stricken homes became prosperous; you will find women who waited for Mr. Right and eventually got him. You will find women who have waited on God for fruit of the womb and today are carrying their children. You will find people who, with good grades could not get a job on time but eventually got something magnificent.

If you find yourself in a situation where it seems like there is no way out, remember nothing is new under the sun. Someone else has passed through what you are going through. Some may have come out victorious. Some may have grown and learnt from the situation. Others may have given in to self-pity, seclusion, wallowing, or wasted their lives. With God, you can be sure of the victory. Which path will you follow today?

Prayer: My Loving Father, thank You for being the same One True God, yesterday, today and forever. You are the One who has always stepped in, right on time, for several people in times past. When I feel like I am going through a situation no one understands or no one has ever passed through, I am grateful that I have You who understands, who sees all my tears and feels my pain. Also, I realize that nothing is new under the sun. There is nothing that will happen now that has not happened before. With You, I am sure of victory. May I continue to trust You and fix my eyes on You no matter what I go through. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Calling Things That Are Not As Though They Were

God ... calls things that are not as though they were.

God called Abraham “the father of many nations” [Gen 17:4] long before there was any indication of this being fulfilled. That Abraham would become the father of a child at his advanced age seemed absurd and an utter impossibility, yet Abraham thought of himself as a father, because God had said so. That is genuine faith -believing and declaring what God has said, even when you cannot see any indications of fulfilment.

Whatever God has spoken, He will surely fulfill. If He has given you His word - His sure word of promise -do not question it but trust it absolutely. You have His promise, and in fact you have even more - you have Him who confidently speaks the words, He whose words always come to pass. You can run with the word of God and boldly declare what God says you have, and He will accomplish what you believe. You will however, need to exhibit genuine faith and trust in Him.

As a child of God, you should also exhibit this attribute of His - calling things that are not as though they were. It may seem strange to people around you when you talk about what you are believing God for as if you already have it. But because you trust the word of God and you know it will surely come to pass, you are only acting like your Father - calling things that are not as though they were.

Prayer: My Loving Father, thank You that for every word and every promise You have spoken concerning me, it will not return to You void, but will accomplish what You desire and achieve the purpose for which You sent it. You word contains promises of things yet to be fulfilled in my life. You call those things that are not as though they were. I agree with Your word, and like You, I call those things that be not as though they were (declare with your mouth that you are / have whatever you are believing God for).  Thank You, for indeed You word will be fulfilled in my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Healing - Your Inheritance

Jesus said to her, “First, let the children eat all they want. It’s not right to take the children’s food and throw it to the dogs.”

The bible in Mark 7:24-30 gives an account of the faith of a Syrophoenician woman who is not a descendent of Abraham. She came to Jesus and asked Him to heal her daughter by casting out a demon that possessed her. Jesus told the woman that it was not fitting to take the children’s bread and cast it or give it to people of another Nations. Jesus called the healing that this woman was seeking, the children’s bread. In other words, healing is the rightful, normal, expected sustenance of the children of God - it's their inheritance. If you are a child of God then it is your right to receive healing. God has promised many times in His word that it His will to heal us.

You can only act in faith when you know the will of God on any matter. That's why we have the Bible today, it is God's will in written form. This woman had an understanding that Jesus was the Messiah, that He was not only able to heal, but that He was willing to do so. Based on that understanding, she was not going to let Jesus pass her by, though she was not one of the "children". She had boldness as a result of her faith, which was based upon knowledge, and she acted on it. Most people would have looked at their own shortcomings, their own unrighteousness, their own inadequacies, and would have been stopped right there - but not her. She was not stopped by her shortcoming. She knew her rights hence she persevered and insisted. She got her eyes off herself and on to the Healer!

Healing is the Children's bread and this is the will of God. Search the word of God to know His will concerning any situation. Build your faith on knowledge and the truth. Allow God to reveal to you steps to take towards your healing and restoration. Do not let lack of knowledge or your perceived shortcomings deny you what is yours.

Prayer: My Loving Father, healing which was purchased through the plan of salvation is truly the children's bread, and I am included. Thank You. I receive healing today for my body and soul (mention any specific area you you want healing for). In Jesus Name, Amen.

A Present Help

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
[Psalms 46:1, NKJV]

As humans we are very frail, such that wind, earthquake or floods can easily sweep us away. Where then does real safety lie? Even though we research and build and think if we planned well enough we could save ourselves, yet we fall victim to many disasters. There is only one real source of safety. 'God is our refuge and strength'. This doesn't mean that God averts every danger..., all men die. Hurricanes strike churches as well as drinking bars, but in danger we do not fear. Whatever happens we are still in God's hand. In life and in death we are with Him.

God's protection is not restricted to physical danger like quakes and floods. Sometimes our dangers are spiritual or emotional. Grief can flood over us, loss of job, family or a relationship can cause our emotional ground to quake. But still God is with us.

Often times our response to the troubles of this world is anxiety. If we would be still and remember that God is in charge, we would be better prepared to cope with the things that come our way. Anxiety doesn't help us, trusting in God who reigns supreme, does.

Prayer: O God, my help in ages past, I anchor in you again for security and help from the troubles of this world. Hide me Lord in your shadow, preserve me from evil. For that which I must pass through, Father give me the strength to overcome. Let me become better and better in my walk with you in Jesus name.

Origin Of Fights

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

[Proverbs 15:1, NIV]

Fights and arguments can be common place in a person's daily life if allowed. There are many seemingly valid reasons to break up relationships and sever communications. The origin of most fights and arguments can be traced down to exchange of words, whereby a provocative assertion is returned with an equally provoking reply. Those scathing replies are used to represent wit, self dignity, self defense, pride or anger. Before long, the conversation degenerates into a fight.

Harsh words have the potential ability to incite more anger and cause more grief. These words can not be taken back so they go a long way in hurting relationships, breaking marriages, destabilizing businesses and giving rise to distrust and hate.

Prov. 15:1 teaches us to avoid fights by the use of right words. A soft answer neutralizes the bullets of angry words. It turns away wrath and puts to shame intentions of strife. As we practice the use of soft answers in our replies may we constantly walk in peace in Jesus name.

Prayer: Dear Lord give us the strength and wisdom to avert angry words with soft answers, that impending fights and their consequences will be averted as well. Help us Lord to walk in peace and progress daily to the glory of your name in Jesus name.
