As Your Day, So Shall Your Strength Be

...And as your day, so shall your strength, your rest and security, be.

As you grow, your strength will be like that of your youth. This promise is not only for your physical well being. The day is often in scripture put for the events of the day.  This is a promise that God would graciously support you under any trial or temptation you may go through.  It is also a promise that God will give you the grace and comfort to the services He calls you out to. You shall have strength to do the works He has called you to. You will never be tempted above what you are able to bear. May you find hope in this promise and find rest in the knowledge that God knows you can bear whatever He has allowed you to go through. Faithful is God who has promised.

Prayer: My Loving Father, I thank You for strength. I thank You for rest and for security even as I move on each day. When I look back and see how I have lived through and overcome certain situations, I realize that it is by Your grace and strength. I find rest knowing You cannot allow me go through what I cannot bear and come out victorious. I consider this an honour, that You believe I can trust You no matter what. I know that You who promised is faithful. As my day, so shall my strength be. Amen.

God Delights In You

He reached down from heaven and rescued me;
He drew me out of deep waters...
...He led me to a place of safety;
He rescued me because He delights in me.

These words of David spoke of his gratitude to God for delivering him from his enemies. He magnified the deliverances God had done for him. He believed that God did all He did for him, because He was pleased with him.

Your Loving Father delights in You. Everytime God looks at you, He sees who you are because of His Only Begotten Son. He sees the obedience, endurance, sacrifice and righteousness of Jesus Christ. He sees the new creature you became when you made Him Lord over your life.

Your Loving Father reached down from heaven to rescue you from deep waters. If you find yourself in a situation that seem like it could drown you or it is too strong for you, rest assured that your Loving Father will not let you sink. He will sustain you and strengthen you.

Consider where you would have been if not for God's deliverance. Or think about what you could have become if God had not loved you and sent His Son to die for you, then you will realize that in truth He delights in you. He delivered you because He delights in you, not by your merit, but by His own grace and good-will.  He has transferred you from a life of darkness into one of living in the Light of His Son.

Prayer: My Loving Father, I thank You for the great deliverance and transfer that took place when I surrendered my heart to You. You delivered me from the dominion of darkness and transferred me into the Kingdom of Your Son in whom I have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Now I walk in the light of Jesus and His kingdom which is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Help me never to forget the great rescue and change You brought into my life. May I never forget that You did all these for me because You love me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

God Is Mindful Of You

What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of [earthborn] man that You care for him?

Your Loving Father is full of majesty. He is majestic in power, in splendor, in glory, in works, and in holiness. He is incomparable and omnipotent. There is no God like the Lord God Almighty [Psalms 8:1,9]. Yet, He is mindful of man. He cares so much for man and He is attentive to the well being and details of man. The Psalmist said the above verse of scripture as He wondered how such a majestic God could be mindful of mere man who does not deserve it.

Your Loving Father is mindful of you. "Mindful" is a covenant word. God does not forget you. He eternally remembers you as He does all men. He remembers the covenant He has established with Adam, with Abraham, and with all their descendants. Because God is "mindful," all that He has promised must come to pass as it happened with Abraham and the promised son, bringing Israel into Canaan, and giving David a Son Who would sit on his throne forever. Because God is "mindful," He made every move to restore the relationship between Him and man. He sent His only begotten Son into the world, not to condemn the world but to save the world through Him. Now He has given us the present realities of salvation: planting new life within us, converting us, leading us to repentance and faith, uniting us to Christ, sanctifying us, and forging us into the communion of saints.

God is mindful of you. You can be rest assured that He will bring to fulfillment all the beautiful promises He has given you.

Prayer: My Loving Father, who am I that You, in all Your holiness, majesty and awesomeness, You are mindful of me? It only goes to show how much You love me. Thank You my Father. I am assured that You will bring to fulfillment all the precious promises You have made concerning me in this present life and in the future life to come. Thank You Father. Amen.

The Morning Prayer

In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare a prayer, a sacrifice for You and watch and wait for You to speak to my heart.

Your Loving Father desires to hear your voice. He desires communication and a relationship with you. Prayer helps to do that. You may not have been consistent in your prayers, but whenever you come to God, He is eager to listen to you and consider your case.
You are fittest for prayer in the morning because then you are refreshed, revived, composed and not yet filled with the business of the day. Though no one desires negative situations, each day one is exposed to temptations and danger for which you can pray for a fresh supply of grace and wisdom.

As you pray to God, your Loving Father, spend time to give Him glory and honour. May His name be hallowed. Then when you have said your prayer, wait patiently for His answer. Wait expecting that God will give ear to your words and consider them. Pray like David would say, "Hearken to me, consider my case, and do in it as seems good to You.’’ Even if you miss your time of prayer, remember that God is always there for you, ready to listen to you.

Prayer: My Loving Father, hear me praying. Listen to my plea, O God my King, for I will never pray to anyone but You. Each morning I will look to You in heaven and lay my requests before You, praying earnestly. I come into Your temple protected by Your mercy and Your love; I will worship and honour You with deepest awe. Amen.

Walk In The Old, Reliable Paths

This is what the LORD says: Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask which paths are the old, reliable paths. Ask which way leads to blessings. Live that way, and find a resting place for yourselves...

Every day in life, you are faced with a decision no matter how great or how insignificant it may seem. But there are some that feel as though if you do not come to a decision, you cannot move. It feels as though there are so many options. You may probably wish you could get a glimpse of the future for each option to aid in your decision-making.

Today your Loving Father says, "Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask which paths are the old, reliable paths. Ask which way leads to blessings. Live that way, and find a resting place for yourself." If you are at a crossroad or at that point where you need to make a critical decision, stand. Do not procrastinate making the decision. Take out time to discuss with your Loving Father. He is God, who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. What has led to blessings in the past will still lead to blessings today. He desires that you see, and find out if what you are hearing from Him (or others who He may bring to guide you) agrees with the written word and the usual methods of His providence in your life.

When you have found out which is the good way, walk in it, apply it, proceed, and persevere in it. Your Loving Father assures you that, if you walk in the good old way, you will find your walking in that way easy and pleasant. You will enjoy both Him and yourself. The way will lead you to true joy and rest.

The decision you take by walking in the good way may cause you some temporary discomfort, but you will find an abundant reward eventually, for your Loving Father sees the end from the beginning, and knows what is best for you.

Prayer: My Loving Father, I thank You that You care about every area of my life and You desire to lead me to the right path. I stand at the crossroads and look; I ask for the ancient paths where the good way is, and by Your grace I choose to walk in it and receive Your promise that I will find rest for my soul.  Help me not to be distracted by my desires and worldly expectations but to listen to Your Voice and obey You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

True Joy Comes From God

You have given me greater joy
than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.

These words are taken from a Psalm [Psalm 4] of David when he gave an account of his own experiences of the grace of God working in him, filling his heart with joy. He had prayed that God will answer his prayer and relieve him of distress. He compared the joy God had given him to the joy of those who had abundant harvest of grain and new wine. The latter joy is a joy dependent on harvest, on substance and material things. The kind of joy God had given him was refreshing, sustaining, though at that time his life was difficult and filled with distress.

Your Loving Father wants you to experience true joy. Joy is a gift from God, a gift of the Holy Spirit, and it is not dependent on circumstances in your life. It cannot be got by material things. It is something that nothing and no one can take away from you. The world may give promises of happiness but it does not satisfy like the joy of the Lord. The joy of the Lord strengthens and gives hope.

As you talk to your Father today and make your requests know to Him, may you receive His joy. May your testimony be that "Father, you have given me greater joy, more than those who have abundance of harvest". Your Loving Father loves you and cares for you. His love is unfailing, everlasting and unshakeable. You do not need to envy the happiness the world seems to offer but rest in the love of God, and the unspeakable joy He gives.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You that I have You and true joy comes from You. I pray that I will continue to know true joy, the joy that only You can bring into my life. I pray for a continual filling of Your Spirit that I may experience Your joy in every situation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

God Is The Lifter Of Your Head

But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

These words were spoken by David during a time when he was in distress. He fled from his son Absalom. Notwithstanding what he was going through, David confided in God and encouraged himself knowing who and what God meant to him.

Your Loving Father is for you a shield. He protects you on every side. He is your glory - He puts true honour upon you.  But more excitingly, He is your joy and deliverer. He is the one that lifts up your head out of troubles, and restores you in due time.

Are you going through a period where you feel you cannot lift up your head all by yourself? Do you sometimes feel like you have a shortcoming in an area where God is yet to come through for you? Do not be discouraged. As a child of God, you can lift up your head with joy, knowing that all shall work together for your good. Your Loving Father will give you reason to rejoice. He is the lifter of your head.

Prayer: My Loving Father, I glorify You and give You honour today. You are a shield for me. You are my glory and the lifter of my head. Thank You, Father. Thank You for protection, safety, honour and deliverance. Be exalted and glorified my Father, for who You are. Amen.
