The Word Of Kings

For the word of a king is authority and power...

In Bible times, a king’s word carried tremendous power. Whatever he decreed would come to pass. It was not contested.

Do you know that you are a king? The Bible tells us that Jesus who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, has made us kings [Revelation 1:5–6, KJV]. As kings in Christ, your words carry power too. Whatever you decree will come to pass.

When you declare that you will have a great day - it will come to pass. When you speak the word of God in your life, that word of God will manifest. When you lay your hands on a sick person and say, “Be healed,” the person is healed. When you say to someone "Be blessed," that person is blessed. There is power in your words because they are the words of kings!

Since your words carry power, it means that if you speak or declare negative words over a person or situation, it will also come to pass. When you tell your child, "You always make mistakes," it is like a curse to him/her. Very often we are tempted to declare the apparent situation but that often leaves us defeated. So rather than saying, “I am always in need of money,” say, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” [Psalm 23:1]. Instead of saying, “I am so useless. I can’t achieve anything positive,” start saying, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” [Philippians 4:13].

As a king, what you say will come to pass because where the word of a king is, there is power. Let your prayer routine have time when you make declarations from the word of God. Learn and choose to say what God says about you in His Word, and see His promises come to pass in your life!

Prayer: My Loving Father, I thank You for Your Son who has loved me, washed me from my sins with His own blood, and has made me a king. I thank You for the power and authority in my words, especially that whatever I decree will come to pass. Father, forgive me for any idle words I may have spoken. I take back any negative words I have declared over my life. Being conscious of the power in my words, I begin to declare Your promises over my life (declare the word of God over your life or any situation that is a challenge to you). May I also use this power of my words to bring life and love to those around me. In Jesus Name, Amen.

An Unknown Way

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,
along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;I will turn the darkness into light before them
   and make the rough places smooth.These are the things I will do;
   I will not forsake them.
Isaiah 42: 16

So often we limit God with our own ideas, we have a clear cut perception of how should go and when things don't go the way we expect, we get confused and anxious. Yet our God is both Alpha and Omega, both the Beggining and the End. He alone has gone before us and seen what lies behind that bend in the road. With our limited understanding, all we see is a road block, but He see our breaking through.

So maybe its a delay you face, or maybe rejection. You thought this time it would happen, but instead things still remained the same. Whatever it is that seems negative, If God has given His word, then stand firm on that, do not waver. Even when you do not see it, relax, lean on Him and let Him lead you through that path you did not even know existed, Let him reveal the light where all you saw before was darkness, allow Him straighten those uneven paths, cos He is our God who exceeds our expectations.

He says "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways  and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,  so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire" Isaiah 55:9-11. His thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are His ways our ways...He would lead us in ways we never even knew.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your constant presence, in You I am confident and I would not be swayed. In these moments, when my mind cannot understand and anxiety begins to loom, help me to remain steadfast in You, I choose to trust You because there is no shadow of turning with You.

What It Takes To Become Perfect

After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?

There are many Christians today who, having embraced the faith of Christ, still continue to seek for justification by the works of the law. They depend on their own obedience to the moral precepts as their righteousness before God. They count themselves as worthy Christians when they have prayed, read the bible, paid tithes and not committed any sin they are aware of. The sad thing is that when they fall short of this obedience or when they give into temptation, they feel they are no longer children of God. They feel they are no longer perfect and have to put in more "works" to regain their stand with God.

Today's verse of scripture is a call to consider your past and present conduct. Are you now trying to become perfect before God by your own human effort? Are you seeking to be made perfect by the flesh? Are you turning back to the law as a basis for evaluating your righteousness? Have you forgotten that it is the Spirit of God at work in you that translated you from a life of darkness into light?

When God sees each and every one of His children who have accepted the free gift of salvation, He sees a righteous child. He sees the new creature you have become. He knows you have already been justified by the Spirit, and it is not by your works that you merit His grace, or by your works that you can become perfect. Your Loving Father knows that you are susceptible to falling short of His glory, and understands when you make mistakes in your walk with Him without taking His grace for granted.

You were justified and made righteous by faith and the Spirit at work in you, not by your human efforts. You will need the help of the Spirit to continue to grow in perfection in your walk with God. Do not copy the behavior and customs of the world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Prayer: My Loving Father, I thank You that I have been justified by faith and Your Spirit is continually at work in me. I apologize for times when I have tried to gain perfection in my walk with you by my own human effort. I yield to Your Spirit today and always to continue to work in me. If there is any time I seek to be made perfect by the flesh, please bring this to my consciousness that I may take correction. May I continue to learn to know Your will for me. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Taking Care Of Self

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.
[1 Corinthians 6:19, NIV]

It is amazing how many Christians out there are not taking care of themselves, and clearly feel terrible for it. Anyone can see this in a person who does not take good care of him/herself from the way they look and the way they carry themselves. You cannot look great if you do not feel great, how you feel will show up somewhere; in your body language, the dull look in your eyes, or even the tone of your skin. Often times it seems people plan to take care of themselves some other day.

There are many reasons why a person will not take good care of him/herself.

- Some do not know how to take care of their physical bodies; bad diets, misinformation and easy access to junk food can jeopardize a person's physical body.
- Poor self Image can cause a person to give up on taking care of him/herself. By setting standards of the perfect person in one's mind, it is easy to constantly feel short of that standard. There's need to reset that internal picture of what an ideal self image looks like.
- Some have become pathologically selfless, thereby become addicted to being selfless even at the detriment of one's well being. It makes the person feel important and valued. Being selfless is not bad but when it begins to take the toll of suffering it is no longer virtue.
- When a person loses support, by not having a good social network or godly foundation to keep the spirit high, it becomes easy to slip into boredom, loneliness and depression. Maintaining a good support network is an important way to prevent bad habits.

Today we are reminded that God dwells in those who believe in Him. Our bodies is our God-given instrument for experiencing life on Earth and for doing God's work. It is the home of your spirit where God dwells and to do the work you were meant to do, you need to keep it in shape. If you let your body get too shabby or sick, it will be a constant distraction as you will not be able to experience the presence of God, His joy and peace in fullness without being pulled aside by the condition of your body. God calls us to cast all our cares upon Him and take good care of His temple.

Prayer: Dear Lord, grant me the motivation and understanding always to take care of my body and not ignore it like I tend to do. Open my eyes to more wisdom on how to take care of my body, and make me fit for your purpose here on it. Dear Lord apply me to all you have called me to do here on earth in full health I pray in Jesus name.

Kept In Perfect Peace

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace
whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You,
because he commits himself to You,
leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
[Isaiah 26:3, AMP]

There are those decisions that we know can change our lives for good or bad, those situations that could make or break us as individuals. We scheme and plan and fret, constantly aware that one wrong move or bad choice can harm us.
When Life causes us to loose our peace of mind, its time for us to shift focus. God calls us to a life of partnership and dependence on Him,  cos when we lean on Him, we would be

Guarded: God promises to watch over us, in other words, when we make Him our center of focus, we are assured that we would constantly be safe in His wings no matter what may come. We are never left on our own but we are kept under the surveillance of the most High....what comfort.

Kept In perfect and Constant Peace: The bible assures us of ...tribulation and trials and distress and frustration(John 16:33), but we are assured of peace because of He who has overcome the world. No matter the challenge, no matter how daunting it may seem, nothing matches the awesomeness of our God, so linked to Him, we walk as victors, therefore we need not worry, but rather we remain in perfect peace, assured that faithful is He who called us who also would do it (1Thess 5:24).

Its not enough to declare total faith and trust in God by words alone, we need to be sure our words, our thoughts and our actions, all align with our profession, we cannot have faith only in words, it is a lifestyle. Our hope should be a confident hope, one that understands that the potential of our God exceeds the things we have seen or even heard. A hope that does not waver but clings the more dearly to God in the face of looming confusion. We let go of trying to use our reasoning and logic, and embrace a more excellent way, The mind of Christ. Trust in the Lord forever for the Lord, the Lord Himself is the Rock eternal (Isiah 26:4)

Prayer:  Lord, I open up my heart to You and ask that You teach me through Your spirit to constantly depend solely on You, help me understand that on my own I would constantly struggle, but leaning on You, I would walk in peace and be guarded. I receive grace to live continuously in perfect peace. In Jesus Name

Ultimate Salvation

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling
[Philippians 2:12, NIV]

In Revelation 3:1, God says 'I know thy works'. He knows everything we have done in the past, and He is aware of every detail of what we are presently doing. He also knows what we are planning to do, our dreams, ambitions and thoughts. He is one who can't be deceived.

There are three types of salvation. The first being Instant Salvation, the second, Progressive Salvation and the third, Ultimate Salvation. The first kind of salvation takes place the day we give our lives to Christ and this gives us the ticket to get to the stage of final salvation, In Philippians 2:12 we are told to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, this is the Progressive Salvation. It is the second step and the longest. It entails doing everything we can to retain our first salvation, and most of Satan's attempts are targeted at making us lose our salvation at this point. Be encouraged to resist, fight, avoid, run sometimes and hold tight to your Progressive Salvation, in order to reach the finishing line.

Matthew 24:13 says of all who have received salvation, only those who endure to the end shall be saved. This is the Ultimate Salvation. It is the third and final step in the salvation process. It is this salvation that receives the gift of eternal life with Christ Jesus our Lord. Hold onto your salvation, not allowing anything or anyone rob you of this priceless treasure, your eternity depends on it.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please give me the grace to continue in your salvation to the end. Uphold me with your victorious right hand of righteousness, help me to hold fast to your salvation in my life. Thank you Lord Jesus for giving me this privilege of Salvation and counting me amongst those who are yours. Let my life glorify you Lord I pray in Jesus name.
