Where To Find Precious Treasure and Oil

There are precious treasures and oil in the dwelling of the wise..

The wise ones are perceived as intelligent, skillful, and having things that are desirable. They will increase what they have and live plentifully. Their wisdom will teach them to manage their resources very well, to invest wisely and to save for a future time. They do not spend based on their lust or wants, but spend on what they need.  They lay up desirable treasures for their own use, and for their families.

Oil here signifies richness, anointing and fruitfulness. The oil was also used for healing purposes. The wise ones, who are so because they take instruction from God, find themselves being rich and fruitful. As you ask your Loving Father for instruction on how to manage your finances, and you obey, may you continue to increase. Even if at the moment you are not where you want to be in your finances, know that your Loving Father blesses the endeavors of the wise and as a result your house will be replenished.

Prayer: My Loving Father, thank You for indeed You always desire the best for me. You are the one who teaches how to profit. Father, I come before You today, asking You to teach me how to manage what You have given to me. Open my eyes and ears to see and hear what You are showing me and telling me about my finances. May precious treasure and oil continue to dwell in my house. In Jesus Name, Amen.

The Characteristic of Wisdom from God

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere

We are often times bombarded with the need to make decisions, and the outcome of our decisions have an impact on our life or the lives of those around us. The impact of our decisions may have direct or indirect consequences and may be immediate or long-term. The decisions we make could be as simple as our choice of reaction to events around us, or as magnified as our choice of a life partner, or our choice of Salvation. In a single day, a person is prone to make several decisions consciously or unconsciously, and these decisions define our actions.

In present day, there is an overflow of information and help, several guides that offer the best solution to life's many challenges. Unfortunately, these principles can't be tested true until the consequence of the decision is borne.

As children of a loving God, encompassed about with the need to make decisions that mirror our testimony in Christ Jesus, He has made provision to guide us with His own all-time, all-knowing wisdom. He says 'If anyone of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him' (James 1:5).

We can therefore differentiate the wisdom that comes from God from the wisdom that comes from experience or intellect, by it's characteristics:

- The wisdom from God brings peace to all parties concerned, there is general acceptance for this kind of wisdom. It is a peace maker.
- The wisdom from God is humble in its deeds. It does not seek opportunity to outshine others
- The wisdom from God is not selfish or bitter. It does not seek opportunity to exploit
- The wisdom from God is pure and devoid of lust or other unhealthy emotions
- The wisdom from God seeks first the good of others, and willingly submits personal opinion and pleasures

Gauging our decisions by the characteristics of Gods kind of wisdom can keep us from hurtful outcomes and consequences of being worldly-wise.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I need your wisdom on a daily basis to walk right and avoid painful regrets. I ask in line with your word for wisdom that constantly brings peace. Help me Holy Spirit to sieve out advice that doesn’t come from you with the characteristics of your wisdom. I pray that the outcome of your wisdom in my life will bring you endless glory in Jesus name.

One-Year Daily Bible Reading Plan - May 28 2010 - 2 Chronicles 6-7 (OT), 1 Corinthians 2 (NT)

Pray for someone today - Pray for the church of Jesus Christ, that there will be strength and increase to the body of Christ in different parts of the world. That many would be reconciled to Christ in these latter days. Pray for Christians who have gone back to former ways, that they return to the love of God and be encouraged for the rest of the Christian journey.

The Source Of Wisdom

For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom;
from His mouth come knowledge and understanding

Life comes with its decision points. When we consider the many areas that affect our lives, such as our family, finances, health and spirituality, we realize that wisdom is something that we all need. Wisdom is defined as knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgment as to action; sagacity, discernment, or insight. It is the application of knowledge needed to live a good life. It is the quality of being prudent and sensible.

The ability to make informed decisions at any point in time can save us and our families much pain and regrets. Wisdom can be obtained from a few sources. Wisdom can be gained from other wise people (Proverbs 11:14). However, every situation is unique to an individual and what may have worked for someone else may not work for you. That is why you need to ask the One who knows it all. If you need wisdom, ask Our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking (James 1:5).
Your Loving Father, who knows the number of hairs on your head, is concerned about every detail of your life. He gives skillful and godly wisdom. It is wisdom that is applicable in every situation. It is wisdom that is divine. It is wisdom that makes you capable and an expert in what you do. It is the wisdom that makes the difference.

As you start today, realize that you can call upon Your Loving Father for wisdom to handle any situation in your life. At the same time, do not take for granted the counsel of knowledgeable people. Take out time to search the scriptures that you may gather knowledge to apply in your everyday life.

Prayer: My Loving Father, I know You desire that I live a good and godly life. There are times when I do not have because I did not ask. Father, I ask for wisdom from You as I make my daily decisions. I pray for guidance and direction concerning the decisions I make for every area of my life. (If there is any area where you need wisdom, pray specifically for that area). Please lead me to wise people who will give me godly counsel should I seek their advice for any decision. Help me to also appreciate and surround myself with people older and wiser than myself, who set for me an example of wisdom, maturity, and perseverance. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

The Name JESUS

Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place
and gave Him the name that is above every name...

There are several words that describe havoc and have the potential to cause havoc. At the same time, there are words that describe good. Above all, God has given us a miracle word, the name JESUS. The name Jesus has the ability to save us, and has the power to reverse challenging situations. That name will work for you today.

There is a lot loaded into the name Jesus; our salvation from sin, Satan, self and the world. The name Jesus is able to save us from every mess. Are you in a mess and it seems there is no way out? Call the name Jesus in faith and you will find a way emerge for your salvation. The name also contains our medication for health. Jesus is the name for victory.

Our dear Lord Jesus is seated at the right hand of God far above every rule and authority, above every power and dominion, above every title that exists. The name Jesus is applicable for today and every day to come. This is our privilege and advantage. As we go into the day with faith in the name of Jesus, we will be saved from every weight and limitation in Jesus name.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I have faith in the ability of Your name to save me. I thank You for Your effort and sacrifice that has made this possible. By the authority of Your name Jesus, I speak peace and calm into my life. I speak peace into my day. Every situation that rises to challenge me, I overcome it in Jesus name, Amen.

Why Press On To Know The Father?

...Let us know Him; let us be zealous to know the Lord. His going forth is prepared and certain as the dawn, and He will come to us as the rain, as the latter rain that waters the earth.

Amidst all the great benefits of walking with God, some days in our walk with Him may not be as exciting as we hope. There could be seasons of uncertainty, periods of disappointment, times of loneliness or moments of doubts. If you are in any such situation, you may ask yourself things like: "What is the point holding on? Why should I remain in faith? Is God really with me?" The testimonies and miracles you have had in the past with your Loving Father may not seem to have weight anymore. The question still remains - Why press on to know more about your Father?

There is something about your Loving Father that you should know. His coming through for you is as prepared, secured and certain as the return of the morning after a dark night. No matter how long the night may seem, there will be dawn and there will be day. It is something to expect and be hopeful for, because surely your morning will come at the appointed time and it will not fail. Nothing or no one else can give you this assurance.

He shall come to you as the rain upon the dry, mown grass. This is rain which revives, makes things fruitful, beautifies, and gives a new face. So shall your restoration be when He finally comes through. You will experience a rejuvenation, a fruitfulness and a beauty that will give you a new and comely countenance.

This is a time to know more about your Loving Father for yourself. Press on to know Him, for He is faithful.

Prayer: My Loving Father, may I always remember that You will respond to me as surely as the arrival of dawn and the coming of rains in early spring. May I continually put my hope and trust in You, for it is only You who can give me the assurance of the future I hope for. While I press on to know more of You through Your word, teachings, and Your creations, I pray for the grace to be patient and to wait on You alone, my faithful Father. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Divine Protection

The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and he delivers them...

Our dear Father is concerned about the well being of His children. His gaze is upon us every moment and He knows the details of what we are going through. He remembers our faith and trust in Him, He remembers our sacrifice of love towards Him. When we call on Him, He hears every word, He understands our heart's cry.
By virtue of being alive, we are surrounded by many challenges and difficult situations. Our most careful and meticulous self can not shield us from exposure to these things. On a daily basis our interactions place us at risk of pain, disappointment, rejection, failure and loss. The objective of this is to make us lose sight of the love and presence of our father.

Our loving father has not left us at the mercy of the circumstances surrounding us. As the Alpha and Omega, He is able to calm every storm. He is able to deliver us out of the lion's den. He is able to make us sufficient in the midst of lack and He loves us enough to help us.

The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them; this is our daily insurance in God. He has made provision for our safety such that a thousand may fall at our side and ten thousand at our right hand, but it will not come near us. He guides us about with His angels so that when we walk through the rivers, it will not overflow us, when we walk through the fire we will not be burned. Let us go into the day with boldness and knowledge of the protection we have in the God who loves us.

Prayer: Beloved Father, I thank You so much for the hiding place You have made for me, and the host of angels You have surrounded me with. With You Lord, I know I am safe and it is well with me. By the knowledge of Your grace and protection for me, I walk in boldness to achieve my God-given dreams and goals. I receive the victory in Jesus name, Amen.

Growing Spiritually (7) - Aids To Spiritual Growth

Grow in grace and understanding of our Master and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Your Loving Father desires that you become more mature and grow closer to Jesus Christ. Herein are some tools that can aid in your spiritual growth.

1. Prayer: - this is communicating simply with your Father as a child would. Your prayer may not need to have special words or phrases. Tell your Loving Father sincerely what you think, how you feel, what you like, what you fear, and what you desire. He hears and answers your prayers, though not necessarily the way you want. As you look to your Loving Father each day for sustenance, it becomes a habit in your life that builds a close relationship with Him.

2. Bible study: - All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that you may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Regular Bible study, reading and thinking about the words that God has inspired, can help you know what God is speaking to you. It is through the word of God that He reveals His thoughts to you, and He desires that you think about them, too. His words tell what He is like, what He has done and what He will do. His words also tell what Jesus Christ is like, and what He wants you to be like.

3. Fellowship: - Your Loving Father calls people together. He created families and that is how He wants His children to live. Since no one has all the abilities, people need to stick together to benefit from each other. When you fellowship with others, you learn from them, you give them help and you also receive help.

4. Ministry:- Your Loving Father has called Christians together to serve one another. Since God has given you unique abilities, you are supposed to use them to serve others. You grow spiritually by doing this. You become more mature, more like Jesus Christ, who used His abilities to serve others. Every Christian is called to be a minister, for the word "minister" means "servant." As you minister with your abilities, you strengthen other Christians in the faith and also grow spiritually.

5. Worship: - When you worship your Loving Father, it is an expression of how much He is worth to you. Music is an important part of worship, for music helps express your emotions in a way that simple words cannot. Worship involves much more than music - it includes your entire lifestyle. For instance, every time you pray, you are involved in an act of worship. Every time you refuse to do something wrong, you are involved in worship. Worship is one of the ways that you can be strengthened in the faith, be reassured of God's love, and be realigned with the wonderful destiny He has prepared for you.

Prayer: My Loving Father, I know You desire to see me mature in my walk with You. Thank You for all the ways You have made available to help me grow spiritually. Father, I pray that I will not take these aids for granted but use them to Your glory. I pray the Holy Spirit will help me to be consistent as I walk daily with You and continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Amen.
