Kiss My Son

Kiss Messiah!...But if you make a run for God—you won't regret it!

The preceding verses [Psalms 2] were spoken to kings and rulers who took counsel together against the LORD and against His Anointed. They were exhorted to serve the LORD with fear. They were also commanded to kiss the Son, Jesus Christ that is to receive Him and reconcile with Him.

Today, your duty to Christ is expressed figuratively - kiss the Son. It is with a believing kiss, not with a betraying kiss, as Judas kissed Him, and as all hypocrites, who pretend to honour him do.

You are to kiss Jesus Christ with a kiss of agreement and reconciliation. There are some who feel hostile towards God because they feel hurt and disappointed. If you are in such situation, let the quarrel between you and God end and be at peace with God in Christ. You are to give Him a kiss of adoration and religious worship. He is worthy of your praise and worship. Most people kiss idols while worshipping them. How much more Jesus Christ your saviour.

You are to give Him a kiss of affection and sincere love. He really loves you. Allow Him to be very dear and precious to you; love Him above all, love Him in sincerity, love Him much, like she whom much was forgiven, and, in token of it, kissed His feet [Luke 7:38]. Give Him a kiss of allegiance and loyalty. No matter what you are going through, decide to remain with Him.

The verse concludes with a promise that if you make a run for God—you won't regret it. If you trust in Him, and so kiss Him, are will be truly happy.

Prayer: My Loving Father, as I think of all You and Jesus have done for me, I am awashed with awe and gratitude. Today I give Jesus Christ a kiss, a kiss that speaks of my love, loyalty, adoration and agreement. Today I say, Jesus, I love You.

Comfort My People

COMFORT, COMFORT My people, says your God.

It is the will of God, your Loving Father, that His people should be a comforted people, even in the worst of times. He desires that comfort will be proclaimed to all His people. If you look around you, you will be surprised to find out that there are people in distress, people who are hurting, and people who need to be comforted. In these words of God, note the repitition of the word "Comfort" (the verb). It implies that it is of great importance to Him.

Take out time to encourage someone. Let them be sure that, notwithstanding the things going on in their lives, God has love and mercy for them.  Even if you have to share your words of conviction from the Bible, wrap it all up with words of comfort.

May you bring comfort and healing to someone today. Amen.

Prayer: My Loving Father, oh how You love all Your people including me. I am so blessed to know that You want all Your people to be comforted. Father, please help me to look beyond myself and see people I could reach out to. Empower me to be Your instrument to bring comfort and healing to Your people. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Your Loving Father Will Lead You On Gently

...I will lead on gently, according as the cattle that goes before me and the children are able to endure...

These words depict Jacob's concern for his family and the livestock. He would not allow them to be driven too hard for even one day. He planned to lead them only one as fast as they were able to endure. He knew exactly how far they could go in a day, and he made that his only consideration in planning their travel. He had taken the same wilderness journey years before. He knew from personal experience its roughness, heat, and distance. His family had not been through that way before. And so he said, “...I will lead on gently..."

In your walk with God, you have never been through the path you are following now. To you it is a new and unknown ground, but Your loving Father knows all about it. Jesus Christ knows it all through His personal experience. He knows the steep places, the rocky paths, the slippery stones, the hot and shadeless roads, the mountains and the rivers. Jesus has gone through it all before you.  He will never make you take one step beyond what your feet are able to endure. If you are at a place where you think you are unable to take another step, He will either strengthen you to make you able, or He will call you to a sudden halt, and you will not have to take it at all.

Your Loving Father knows that your walk with Him is something new and unknown. He will lead you gently. He will not lead you to paths you are unable to pass through.

Prayer: My Loving Father, thank You for going before me in my journey. In Your love and grace, You lead me on gently and take me to places I can eventually pass through, though the path may not be smooth. I pray for enough light for the step I am on, and strength to make the next step. I pray for understanding, when we have to take a path I am not familiar with. I also pray that you teach me how to deal with others, believers and non-believers alike, to walk/work with them at their pace, and make what they have to do or go through easy for them. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

God Charts The Road You Take

God charts the road you take...

Your loving Father charts the road you take. To chart herein means to plan in detail. Your Loving Father knows your way - He chose you into it, inclined you to choose it, and with your acceptance of Him, He leads you and guides you in the way He has set out for you. He orders all your steps. He plans in detail your path and ensures you are where He wants you to be.

Your Loving Father is Alpha and Omega. It does not matter where you are currently in your journey. As long as He is concerned, your way shall prosper and end well. He knows your way, knows your heart, knows your secret devotions, knows your character, and He knows all you are going through. He is a rewarder to them that diligently seek Him. Your way shall not be hidden from the world, but will bring you joy and honour.

Wherever you are today, be encouraged that your loving Father is planning in detail your way to bring you to an expected end. Allow Him take the lead.

Prayer: My Loving Father, thank You for charting the road I take. I know You do this in Your grace and unfailing love. There may have been times, or there may be times when I wonder if where I am is in Your plan for my life. I pray you help me understand the big picture, that my way shall be properous and it shall end well. I pray for the ability to trust you when I am unsure of the next moment. Reveal to me what I should be doing now, in preparation for the great things ahead. Thank You Father. Amen.

You Shall Prosper In All You Do

...They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do...

These words here speak of the blessed man, the one who delights in the word of God, the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly. His blessedness is likened to a tree, fruitful and flourishing.

The more you meditate in the word of God, the better equipped you will be for every good word and work. You will be like a tree planted by the riverbank bearing fruit each season. You will bring forth your fruit (that which is required of you) in due season, when it is most beautiful and most useful, at the right time.  Your leaf shall not wither. Recall that the leaf of a tree is what generates food for the tree. What you do shall be preserved from blemish and decay. Your reputation and your achievements will never wither. You shall be prosperous in all you do. Whatever you do, in conformity to the word of God, it shall prosper and succeed.

Knowing the power and efficacy of God’s grace, from which your fruit is found, continue meditating on the word of God and abound in the fruit of righteousness, which Jesus Christ has paid fully for you

Prayer: My Loving Father, thank You for Your word. As I meditate in Your word, I know great and mighty things are happening in me. I pray that I will have a continuous desire to spend time with You and Your word. I pray for Your  grace to fortify me against every evil word and work, and to furnish me for every good word and work. May my fruit flourish in beautifully and at the right time. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Blessed Is The Man Who Delights In The Word Of God

...But his delight is in the law of the LORD,...
and on His law he meditates day and night

This scripture describes one of the characteristics of a godly man who will be blessed. He is regarded as blessed if he does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, he does not stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers [Psalm 1:1]. To be able to be kept out of the way of the ungodly and be fortified against their temptations, he needs to meditate on the word of God.

If you are are pleased that there is God, you need to be pleased that there is a Bible, a revelation of God, a revelation of His will, and knowledge of the way to happiness in Him. When you become delighted in the word of God, you will find yourself meditating on it. Negative thoughts are replaced with thoughts of the word of God. Your Loving Father promises a prosperous way and good success to those who meditate on the word of God [Joshua 1:8].

To meditate in God’s word is to think about and talk about with yourself the great things contained in it. As you meditate, you need to have an application of it in mind and a fixedness of thought, until you are affected by the words and experience the power of them in your heart. Are you going through a time when you need guidance or comfort? Search the scriptures for a word applicable to your situation. You need to have it in your thoughts whether night or day. Resist negative thoughts with the word of God. Overcome negative confession with the word you are meditating on. Think about it even as you rest and sleep every night.

Prayer: My Loving Father, I desire to be rooted and established deep in Your love and righteousness so that I will stand firm against temptations or trials. I pray for a desire to delight in Your word. As I read Your Word may it find a resting place in my mind and a loving place in my heart so that I will meditate on it day and night. I plant my spiritual roots deep in the soil of Your Holy Word so that I can be like healthy trees planted by streams of water growing in strength, beauty, and fruitfulness. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

You Are Free

He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins.

It was by reason of sin that man was captivated, and we cannot be released from our captivity but by the remission of our sins. However, because of Jesus Christ, we are free and we have remission through His blood. The guilt and the stain of sin could not have been removed by anything other than the blood of Jesus. This great benefit, which comes freely, was dearly bought and paid for by Jesus Christ; and yet it is according to the riches of God’s grace. God was satisfied by Christ as our substitute.

You are no longer a captive of the enemy. You have been set free. You are no longer slave to sin and it's consequences. You have been paid for fully with the blood of Jesus Christ. God, who is so rich in kindness and grace, has forgiven you of all your sins, past, present and future.  As you live freely, remember that God loves you but do not take the grace of God for granted.

Happy Easter. It is well with you and yours.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the great sacrifice of Your Beloved Son. Because of Jesus, I am free and my sins have been forgiven. Because of Jesus, I am where I am today, with hope for a future. I pray that with the help of Your Spirit, I will continue to walk in the freedom and liberty You have purchased for me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
