The Lover of God's Word Is Filled With Peace

Great peace have they who love Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble...

Great peace have they who love the law of God. To love God’s Law is to desire it, to understand it, to live by it and to appreciate it. It is a cycle. You get the desire to read God's word through the help of His Spirit in you, and through prayer. You understand God's word by reading, studying, listening and meditating. You live by it by applying the principles that you know. You appreciate the word of God when you see the benefits and when you realize that God loves you and wants the best for you. This in turn makes you desire His word more.

Have you ever experienced a feeling of peace after reading or listening to God's word? Great peace have they who love the word of God. As you spend time with the word of God, you will have great peace - such peace as the world can neither give nor take away. It is a peace that passes all understanding. You may be in difficult situations yet enjoy great peace within. You will not be like those who love the world, who have great vexation, for the world does not answer their expectation. God's word is able to exceed your expectations.

As you spend time with the word of God, you will have such great peace that nothing shall offend you; nothing shall be a scandal, snare, or stumbling-block, to you, to entangle you either in guilt or grief. Rather your love for the word of God shall enable you both to hold fast your integrity and to preserve your tranquility. You will make the best of every situation, and not quarrel with any thing that God has permitted in your life. Nothing shall offend or hurt you, for every thing shall work together for your good. The love of God will reign in your life.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word. Thank You for the assurance of peace to those who love Your word. Loving Father, I pray for a fresh desire for your word. I pray to learn and be dedicated to the things that concern Your word. May I continue to experience peace from You, which passes all understanding. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
