The Name Of The Lord Is A Strong Tower

The name of the LORD is a strong tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.

The Old Testament has various references where the name of the Lord denoted something of essence. For instance, the name of God is Elohim - the Creator. You can declare that God is Creator of everything, that He created you fearfully and wonderfully, and for good works for His glory. You can read more on the applications of the names of God here.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower for you, where you may take rest when you are weary, and where you may be lifted up above enemies and be fortified against them. There is enough in the name of God. There is comfort, health, wealth, protection and provision in the name of God.

You now in New Testament times know the full name that is the name above all others. God gave Jesus Christ the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father. Jesus' name is to you the source of salvation, a source of strength, and a source of safety. His name is a strong tower. When you call upon His name, and when you run to His name, you can be sure He will meet you at your point of faith. In Him you have everything that seemed to be in part in the different names of God.

Prayer: Thank You Heavenly Father that Your name is a strong tower where I find my peace and safety. Thank You Father, that I can call upon the name of Jesus Christ, the name above every other name, and everything, every situation, every challenge will bow down to the name of Jesus Christ. I declare that Jesus is Lord over my life. I thank You Lord for answered prayers, for in Jesus Name I have prayed, Amen.

One-Year Daily Bible Reading Plan - Mar. 15 2010 - Joshua 11-12 (OT), Luke 21 (NT).

Suggested Prayer Point for yourself - Pray for your Christian Race. Pray that God will help you to throw off troublesome weights and help you soar on wings like eagles, that you may not grow weary; but will walk and not faint. Cast all your burdens on Jesus, your Burden-bearer. Supporting Scriptures - Isaiah 40:31, 1 Peter 5:7.

Suggested General Prayer Point - Pray for those who have turned away from God because of progress in their lives, e.g. those who may have left God because they have become wealthy. Pray that they will encounter people who will help them return to their first love. Pray that they are still sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
