I Will Not Put Off What I Have Promised

Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?"

These words of the Lord, spoken after a parable [Luke 18:1-8], was to assure God's chosen ones that God will be gracious to them. A widow met a judge (who neither feared God nor regarded men) asking that he will avenge her adversary. She had to beg fervently for it appeared the judge was not going to grant her request. In the end she got justice done by her continual craving. He was forced to grant her plea to get rid of her.

Today your Loving Father says to you, "Will I not surely give justice to you who cry out to Me day and night? Will I keep putting you off?" God is not one who wants to get rid of you. Rather He wants you to draw closer to Him. This comes through prayer and spending time in His presence.
The lesson to take from the parable is that you should always pray and not grow weary, for you shall not seek God’s face in vain. You should perseverance in your requests knowing that surely the thing which you desire will come to pass.

Be encouraged today and continue to pray with faith and fervency, for your Loving Father will surely give justice to His chosen people who cry out to him day and night.
